About Us

History:

The Merrimack Valley Military Vehicle Collectors was formed in the fall of 1986 shortly after the International Military Vehicle Collectors Club Annual convention in Lowell Massachusetts. Most of the founders of the MVMVC were very involved in planning and executing that convention.

The founders of this club had a few very basic goals in mind when this club was started, and have kept them going strong to this day. They are really quite simple:

This is a FAMILY club. Make it as enjoyable for everyone, wives children, etc. at all events. (This does not mean that you must have a family to join)

This is a VEHICLE club. We do not allow live weapons or ammunition.

This is an ACTIVE club. During the summer, we have something going on almost every other weekend if someone wishes to attend.

This is an INVOLVED membership. To become a member, and retain membership, you must do something every year that the average person could not, or would not do to benefit the club. Examples of this include volunteering at the Weare Rally, organizing an event, helping with the newsletter..

Today:

The club has over many active members and member applicants. We hold events year round, every month there is at least one event. In past years we have participated in events such as:

Spring Mystery Tour

Memorial Day Parades in Lowell, and Newton,  Massachusetts and Danville and Merrimack NH

July 4th Parades Merrimack NH

The Annual Weare Rally; The club sponsors the largest Historic Military Vehicle Rally in New England.

A visit to the State Veterans Home in Tilton N.H. to meet spend time with retired soldiers.

The Fall Foliage Tour: One or more days cuising through scenic Northern New Hampshire in HMVs.

A Holiday Party and Yankee Swap.

And MUCH MORE….
